In the interest of getting something working quickly, we're deferring a number of issues/capabilities we'd like to have in the SGM.
- Access to log files
NCCS and NERSC have designated particular directories within the filesystem that are visible to a web server.
What is possible at PPPL?
- Elviz monitoring links
Probably make netCDF files available the same way as log files. Alternatively, send {files|updates} to monitoring portal.
- APIs to allow physics codes to generate events
- Alternative awareness mechanisms
Jabber IM, RSS feeds.
- Use of IPS event service internally
ES must be able to operate asynchronously
- Tools to "replay" event logs from detatched runs into portal
- Simulation metadata
- A robust solution to the problem of runIDs and partly or fully detatched simulation runs
